“Nothing great in the world was accomplished without passion.”
When we think of passion, we usually think of it in terms of a relationship with another or a strong sexual desire. The energy of true passion lives deep inside of each and every one of us. It is our unique inner fire, wanting to be ignited. To find what one is passionate about and to be able to stoke that fire is not only a gift, it is an inherent human right. At certain times in our life, we might question how we can gain deeper meaning of our daily existence. To be able to develop your passion requires cultivating a deep romance with your self.
“Find something you’re passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.”
Take time to reflect on what moves you. Go deeper in your awareness about what brings you joy and makes you feel alive. Don’t worry about being realistic. Focus on what your heart is saying, not your head. If you are having trouble tapping into your passionate self, give these activities a try…
“Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.”
In my practice I often use flower essences to help guide clients toward manifesting and discovering true passion. Wild Oat is used to help one tune into their career calling; to be able to attain one’s fullest potential in life. Dr. Bach recognized the need to heal this part of ourselves that is out of touch with our higher purpose:
“Let us find one thing in life that attracts us most and do it. Let that one thing be so part of us that it is as natural as breathing; as natural as it is for the bee to collect honey, and the tree to shed its old leaves in autumn and bring forth new ones in the spring. If we study nature we find that every creature, bird, tree and flower has its definite part to play, its own definite and peculiar work through which it aids and enriches the entire Universe.”
[Bach: Collected Writings]
“By believing passionately in something that still does not exist, we create it. The nonexistent is whatever we have not sufficiently desired.”
Once you discover what it is you are passionate about, you will become motivated to create the circumstances for manifesting it. This is in fact a sexy practice and it can be felt radiating throughout your being. You begin to feel alive in a more clear, energized way. You will know once your passion emerges, as it is unstoppable. All reason goes out the window as you embark on a journey of heartfelt discovery. It will feel larger than life in a way that carries you along with a certainty and love for your special endeavor. When you wake up in the morning, you know that your true purpose is to join with this lust for life. Your soul fire has been ignited. Now your job is to keep stoking the inner flames with ardor.
“There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”
